  • Title: New release of D3.2 requested in 5/April/2002 Audit (Guidelines for migration of collaborative work applications)
    Issue Date: June 2002
Found at: LONG (Laboratories Over Next Generation Networks)
Abstract: This document provides guidelines to migrate applications to new IPv6 environment. The first part is devoted to identify characteristics that usually require changes and the second provide basic socket interface extensions.
  • Title: Report on First Phase Trials and Evaluation Report
    Issue Date: November 2001
Found at: LONG (Laboratories Over Next Generation Networks)
Abstract: This report shows the results of several network performance tests for different IPv4 to IPv6 transition mechanisms, and for the use of IPv6 over different access and transport technologies. The data obtained from the tests is presented, and some preliminary conclusions are extracted from the results. Additional conclusions will be raised in following documents.
  • Title: IPv6 issues and implications for operators and deployment of new services such as UMTS
    Issue Date: July 2001
Found at: EuroSCOM - Project and Study Results
Abstract: This report outlines the case for IPv6 in UMTS from a technical perspective. The two releases of UMTS that have been used in the study are Release 99 and the All-IP solution. The ngtrans working group of the IETF have provided a set of transition tools. These mechanisms have been analyzed in combination with the UMTS network, and their advantages and disadvantages have been analyzed. Six scenarios have been identified and described and show the different stages in a UMTS evolution where IPv6 is introduced as a service. The scenarios described in the report are all analytically evaluated based on end-to-end security, Mobility, DNS, AAA services, Signaling for VoIP services and Quality of Service (QoS).
  • Title: Inter-provider Routing and Peering in IPv6
    Issue Date: July 2001
Found at: EuroSCOM - Project and Study Results
Abstract: This document lists the basic functional tests that verify the availability of essential inter-provider and routing functions, and give the results obtained during the time frame of the Armstrong project. A subset of the functionalities tested are necessary to deploy an IPv6 network in an inter-provider environment.
  • Title: Transition strategies IPv4 to IPv6
    Issue date: March 2001
Found at: EuroSCOM - Project and Study Results
Abstract: The document discusses interaction of transition mechanisms that can be involved in a communication between two end-points. Various transition mechanisms are defined to solve single transition issues. They are supposed to be used once along the path of a single communication. During the transition phase disparate network architecture will introduce multiple transition mechanisms in different ways. It will not be possible to predict the number and the nature of the transition mechanisms that can be encountered along the path of an act of communication. This document aims to identify cases where multiple transition mechanisms can be involved, and what can be the interaction effects between them.
