"JPEG2000 and Color Image Archiving”

ABSTRACT

The presentation gives a short introduction to JPEG2000 and to color spaces—mostly focusing on the bits that would be interesting and useful to video and moving image archivists. The talk then describes how these two topics come together with some examples of archiving and mastering applications, such as digital cinema. It concludes with a brief overview of some of the current activities around search and archival color.

BIOGRAPHY

Robert Buckley is a Research Fellow at Xerox and the Xerox Principal on the US JPEG/MPEG committee. He was the Project Editor for Part 6 of the JPEG2000 Standard and the Chair of the CIE Technical Committee on the Communication of Color.
